Quite some time since I sent work to Cossack Art Prize but this year I have with a work taking you through the ever-shifting terrain within the fringes of spinifex country where the rivers rise revealing the footprint of cattle along the riverbeds.
After the earliest efforts to establish the pastoralist industry in this country in the late 1800's when pastoralists were initially granted conditional use of large areas of land, cattle have become embedded in both the story and history of this landscape This country always strikes you as vast powerful , at times daunting but always with its unique beauty .
The Prizes will be announced on 20 July and open From 21 July to 11 Aug.
