The Conversations with Saltmarshes Begins

Paperbark remembering, Pigment on Paper

This week I will be heading to Tasmania for a month-long residency & to join artists working with a saltmarsh ecology at Pipeclay Lagoon near the residency.

I will be also be joining them to exhibit in:
Conversations with the Saltmarsh
9 January - 2 February
Rosney School House Clarence Tasmania

The work featured here: Paperbark remembering Pigment & Polymer on paper (framed) 69x87x4 cm.

This species of Paperbark is found in the swamp conditions in the Wetlands in the urban areas of Perth Western Australia, the city being built on reclaimed land. Salt tolerant species of Paperbark are also found in the saltmarshes on the south coast of Western Australian. Saltmarshes occur along our coastline from The Northwest Cape to Cape Arid east of Esperance

The work will introduce me to the group and start a dialogue about how these threatened environments might compare and the roles that artists can play.
